Work & Family life
John Mangos has a tenacious attitude to life and a strong work ethic.
Staring out in 1991, the same year he was involved in a hit and run accident, left on the side of the road in between Fyshwick and Queanbeyan, he started his own design and consultancy practice, Monaro Region Blueprints. In 1992, he completed his studies, the final year being repeated due to the accident. He successfully operated his business until 1997, where he closed the doors for about 2 years to travel and experience the world.
Upon his return he got married and planned to set up his life here in Jerrabomberra.
He and his father Arthur, built his own house over three years. This was a result of the 2003 bushfires where he was faced with a tradie shortage.
He still lives there with his wife Liuda and three daughters, Sophia, Katya and Annushka.
Why to vote
With many of the roles he operated and managed being regional roles, john is perfectly suited to see the big picture for the Queanbeyan-Palerang Region. He will bring some positive synergy to the council and help formulate change in our region for the better.
He loves traveling, meeting people and all of his professional life has been about helping, consulting with people and getting things done.
In 2015 John was involved in starting up what would become a Mental Health Group for Men.
OPEC, The Organisation for Properly Excellent Chaps. Not to be confused with the Oil producing countries. This group meets regularly, helping and making a difference for many people.
John will see 20 years of marriage to his wife Liuda shortly. They have three daughters who are very active, keen members of the community.
Let me and my group, Your Local Party, help Queanbeyan-Palerang reach its full potential for our future.
